As beach resort tows both Coco and Ocotal have a myriad of water activities available. These include such sports as diving, surfing, snorkeling, sailing and fishing. Many operators use their boats for a combination of tours and accommodate vacationers by offering any or all of the above while others have made sport fishing their sole endeavor. Following is a brief description of what several sportfishing operators in town have to offer.
Tranquilamar
Has 3 boats dedicated to sport fishing, each with its own crew consisting of a captain and mate. Likewise, each boat is 27 ft with a 10ft beam and 250 HP single prop engine.

Also have 3 boats: the 31 ft Gryphon II, the 37ft Predator, and the 52 ft Gryphon; each accommodate 4, 6 and 8 clients, respectively. While the Gryphon II has captain and mate, the latter two boats have a third crewmember, a concierge. The concierge, as Don, Deep Sea’s owner, explained is the one who talks the clients through the catch every step of the way. Don enjoys having children and women aboard and believes they make the best anglers. Children, he says, listen to the captain, and, in so doing, catch a fish faster than their experiences adult counterpart.
