Renting a car when visiting Guanacaste Costa Rica

Costa Rica is relatively small country abundance of natural splendors to see and exciting tours. Renting a car and touring this natural paradise is great way to explore this great country. Armed with a healthy credit card, freshly stamped passport and valid driver’s license you can let the adventure begin.
You will need to be or have the following: 21 years of age or older-have passport with an entrance stamp no older than 90 days have a credit card that can absorb a $750 deductible (credited back to you upon return of the vehicle with no damages).
The rental car agencies will offer: friendly courteous service-insurance a variety of cars, SUV’s and trucks, 24 hour roadside service.
Most of the rental car agencies will deliver cars to your hotel, or you can make arrangements at the airport or visit their office all of which are close to the airport. Road maps can be purchased at most gas stations.
Do’s and Don’ts
We offer the following information because rental cars are somewhat easy to identify and as such you can become a target for pretty thievery. This is simply to help guarantee that you will enjoy your travels. It is better to be safe, than sorry.
If you receive roadside assintence from a stranger be sure to watch the contents of your car closely.

  • Do not leave valuables in your car
  • Always lock your car
  • At night, park in established secure parking lots.
  • Police used radar obey the speed limits.
  • If stopped by the police, accept the ticket, it will be less expensive than a bribe.
  • You cannot leave Costa Rica with the car.

If you happen to get lost, you will find most Costa Ricans are more than willing to help you find your way, just ask anyone along the street for help and use your map for visual assistance if language is barrier. Buckle up and enjoy adventure I Paradise.
